Rexford first came to my attention when I heard his compositions being played by The Philharmonia Orchestra. The hairs on the back on my neck stood up. This is always a great sign. I wanted to know more. Through my contact at The Philharmonia I learned of Rexford's story. From a humble bar tender and cook to composer and artiste. I acquired a copy of his diares. Just a momentous and inspiring story. I have been a screen play writer for over 30 years and have never come across such a tale, even in fiction. I evntually met Rexford in LA and put 'screen play' meat on the bones of his detailed diary. Since then I have been immersed in writing the movie verion of his amazing adventures. From Afghanistan to America, from Africa to Austia. His work on behalf of the poverty stricken people of Africa is an inspiration. Music from his film scores to rock 'n' roll, reflect such travels and and are intellectually stiimulating and thought provoking. Listen carefully to the words of "Battle of Baghdad" and then understand his powerful " Date with Destiny." The album is bursting with energy. The film about his life is called "Ben's Angels," and is being made at Pinewood studios in the UK. I know you will being seeing it one day over here, and this is a great chance to pucrhase some of Rexford's music in advance.
