Kin is the first studio album from Anglo-Irish songwriting partnership
THE PORTRAITS, presenting eleven highly personal songs using colourful
acoustic arrangements and choir-like vocals to present various takes on
family, ambition and bereavement. Attracting comparisons with the early
sound of the Beautiful South, the songwriting style of Ben Folds and the
layered vocals of Clannad, this is an at times humerous and at others
painfully reflective adult pop with a theatrical edge.
In memory of Jeremy's father, who the CD is dedicated to and many songs
are written about, half of all proceeds from the CD sale will be passed
on to The Anthony Nolan Trust, a UK-based Leukaemia charity to help sufferers.
