Having a minister for a mother, a conductor for a father, and being the nephew of internationally renown singers William Warfield and Leontyne Price, it's no surprise that Thomas Warfield grew up performing, directing, producing, dancing, teaching, and writing. At age 4 he studied the piano; in 6th grade he wrote his first play; he studied music and theatre at Nazareth College; he studied ballet withOlive McCue and at The School of American Ballet, Martha Graham School of Contempory Dance, and The Joffrey Ballet School, which earned him a BFA in Dance(modern & ballet).
Thomas performed with the Opera Theatre of Rochester, New York City Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. He also held roles as the "Tinman" in the Wiz, "Tulsa" in Gypsy and dozens of musicals, plays, and Shakespeare's Hamlet. While at the University of Utah as a MFA degree canidate Thomas founded DanceArt. PeaceArt International,also founded by Thomas Warfield, is a company of worldwide performers facilitating greater human understanding through the arts. Thomas has traveled to dozens of cities thoughout the US and Worldwide, presenting concerts and workshops in schools, hospitals, community centers, theological seminaries, homeless shelters, and correctional facilities.
